At times every relationship needs some getaway time. A time for just the two of you to go to a romantic place, relax and have some fun. It can be over a weekend or several days--a time to renew and refresh.
Oregon has some special romantic places that are sure to please. Whether you like the ocean beaches, the mountains, want to be on a river, or in the middle of the city, there is something for you.
Romantic Getaways in Oregon--The Mountains
One thing Oregon does really well is rustic. Picture yourself in a rustic lodge, listening to the river and the sounds of the forest. Or maybe watching the softly falling snow with a cup of hot chocolate in your hand and the sound of a crackling fire in the fireplace.
If the beach and rolling waves say "romance" to you like it does for most people, you are sure to find the perfect place at the romantic Oregon Coast. A place where you can be alone when you want and still have plenty of things to do.
The Oregon Coast is inviting even in the winter time. A best kept secret is that the weather is usually better during September, October, and even November than it is in the summer months and there are fewer people and lodging rates are lower.
One of the most romantic places I know of on the south Oregon Coast is WildSpring Guest Habitat. Here you can have a two-room cabin in the woods with wild ferns, deer, and other wild life and still enjoy the ocean view from the guest hall and spa.
You will be the only guests at New England House with your own private entrance. Located on the Central Oregon Coast at Yachats, it is right on the ocean so you won't have far to go to enjoy a stroll on the beach. Enjoy a
sumptuous breakfast while watching the waves roll in.
The Timber Suite at Sand Lake Country Inn has a private entrance, a wood-burning fireplace, and a jacuzzi. A four-course breakfast will be delivered to your door each morning. Sand Lake Country Inn is on the north coast about one mile east of Pacific City.

Spend a few days in Oregon's wine country. Go on a tour of Oregon wineries and visit their tasting rooms. Some of the vineyards have their own bed and breakfasts and many of them have facilities for weddings as well.
Romantic Getaways in Oregon--Portland
A weekend or a few days in Portland can be just as romantic as the beach or the mountains. Stay at a romantic hotel or bed and breakfast, take in a play at a Portland theater, a performance by the Oregon Symphony, or go on a river cruise on the Willamette or Columbia. Dine in one of Portland's many romantic restaurants.
The perfect place to stay is The River Place Hotel. The Fireplace Suites have a view of the city of Portland, Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and the Willamette River.
Another romantic choice is the The Vintage Plaza Hotel with its Tuscan-style decor. Located in downtown Portland it is convenient to the theater and shopping.
Romantic Getaways in Oregon--Ashland
The town of Ashland in Southern Oregon is very romantic with its beautiful Lithia Park and its theaters. Choose any of these
