Hotels in Oregon

If most of your travel will be in the northwest part of Oregon, Portland can be a great place to stay because from there it is easy to see many of Oregon's attractions by making a day trip. Mt. Hood is only an hour and a half away. The Oregon coast is also an hour and a half away. You could also stay in Beaverton which is a bit closer to the coast.

Many people choose to make the Oregon Coast their base because they want to spend most of their time there. Here you will find several coastal towns that have an excellent selection of hotels.

If southern Oregon is where you want to spend most of your time, you will also find a good selection of hotels in Ashland or Medford. If you are attending the Oregon Shakespeare Theater in Ashland you might find it a bit cheaper to stay in Medford. Then again Ashland has some great hotels. Grants Pass is the best place to stay if you are taking part in activities on the Rogue River. All three of these towns are just a couple of hours away from Crater Lake.

In central Oregon, Bend and Redmond are good choices. Bend is probably best if you are planning on skiing at Mt. Bachelor. From Bend it is an easy drive to see Newberry Crater, Sisters, Kahneeta, and Lake Billy Chinook.
