Below is a selection of bed and breakfast in
Portland
that are in different areas of the city. Portland is a city of beautiful old houses and some of those magnificent homes have been turned into bed and breakfast homes by people who understand quality and beauty and are willing to offer it to others to enjoy even if it is only for one night.

Portland's White House Bed and Breakfast
I was in this house many years ago when it was in a state of cosmetic disrepair. The owner at that time had the dream of restoring it to its original glory. I am glad that it has been accomplished though by another person. I think it is the most spectacular bed and breakfast in Portland
The location of this house in northeast Portland makes it perfect for visiting the Convention Center, the Lloyd Center Mall, and the Portland sports arena, The Rose Garden. It is a short distance from MAX, the lightrail that can take you into downtown Portland in minutes and even out to the Oregon Zoo, Washington Park, and the International Rose Test Garden.
It is a Greek Revival Mansion with five spacious guest rooms. All rooms have private baths, climate control, and wireless internet access. Vegetarian breakfasts are available and there is a complimentary espresso bar.
The Lion and the Rose Victorian Bed and Breakfast Inn
In the same neighborhood in northeast Portland as Portland's White House above, the Lion and the Rose is close to MAX, the Lloyd Center Mall, the Rose Quarter Convention Center, and the Rose Garden Sports Arena.
The spacious and elegantly decorated rooms all have private baths. A full two-couse breakfast is served and soda, juice, spring water and tea is available complimentary.
Free wireless internet access is available as well as a free guest PC.
Now, in another neighborhood of fine old homes across the Willamette River in southwest Portland is MacMaster House. It was originally constructed in the 1880's in the Queen Anne style with Colonial Revival elements added in 1905. It is close to Washington Park and a short
walk to the wonderful boutique shops, restaurants, and art galleries on SW 23rd.
Seven guest rooms are available and all have central air conditioning. Some have private bathrooms and fireplaces. All rooms have TV/VCR and there is a free Video Library. Wireless internet access is available in all the rooms.
This gorgeous bed and breakfast on a hill has views of Mt. Hood, the Willamette River, and the nighttime city lights of Portland. All rooms have a private bath, luxury bedding, cable TV, and air conditioning. One room has a fireplace with wood provided.
Breakfast includes a hot dish such as Eggs Benedict or English Crepe with Fruit in addition to cold items such as pastries, fruit, and cereal.
The directions on how to get here sound complicated but they are really not if you just follow them step by step or look at a map first. When I first read them, I closed my eyes and pictured how I would drive. Then I looked at a map to see if I was right--I was! Of course, I have driven the highways many times. Still the highway signs are excellent in Portland.
Rose Cottage is also on a hill in southwest Portland but with a western view. It is a modern building in a "farmhouse" style. There are only two rooms available. One has a private entrance, a sitting room with fireplace, and a bedroom. There is also a private covered patio. The other guest room is spacious. Both guest rooms have a mini-fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, TV and VCR, and are air-conditioned.
This list of bed and breakfast in Portland give you a selection located in different parts of the city. They are all convenient to downtown and most are on public transportation. I will be adding to this list.
